hence why 90% of this script has nothing to do with idling.

The actual autoreconnect part is tiny in comparison to everything else.

Hats are a fad. With enough time, the idlers will slowly dissipate and so will the servers.

AND

trading/crafting might make it sort of pointless... OR extremely useful [if idling allows you to get even MORE hats through crafting/trading]

More like changes to the item system will make idling worthless.

I guess that too.
Better idle as much as possible BEFORE it happens Wink

go in \core\ and start srctools.bat

if that still doesn't work, i'll need to know EXACTLY what the error message is. I can't guess what the error "set" was, there's like a thousand SET commands in there.

note - you won't see the error if you use \core\srctools.bat
So if it crashes, go back to Sourcetools.bat to see the error.

hmmmmm the problem either comes with the fact that you use a different language windows, or.... something to do with incompatibility [every freaking windows copy behaves differently Sad ]

Open core\srctools.bat in console
On the first line, you'll see " @echo off "
Change it to "@echo on"
then load up Sourcetools.bat again, and take a screenshot when you get the problem. There will be a lot more information this time.

edit - nevermind, i misread your reply. You said TF2 loads up?

So the batch script closes after TF2 is launched?

Does TF2 actually launch and stay up?

Which mode are you using when it happens?

Ok ... i used ur old releases so i had to delete idle.cfg and autoexec.cfg in my cfg folder of tf2 ... then i started the SRCToolsv088.bat and everything was unzipped (SRCTools, core folder with extras.bat and SourceTools.bat)

Then i started SourceTools.bat and choosed tf2, then the cmd windows say preparin to launch TF2 ... it loads up and exactly were the menu would occurs the game is closing and the Error (set" is syntically at this point not available occurs in the cmd window :\

for short ... yeah i think the script close my TF2 after it loads up

Thats the Error with @Echo on

[My Path]\SourceTools>if= yes (set allowexit=0) else (set allowexit=1)

Did you get asked about Multimode? [where you'd have to answer "gum"]

After that, did you get asked for which mode to launch?

Doesn't mean TF2 is really getting launched. It just means my script is reaching the point where it launches TF2.

This I don't understand. What is "it" ? TF2?

What do you mean by "and exactly were the menu would occurs the game is closing" ?? Can you write better in French? [I speak French as well]

Okay, I know exactly where that is.
It would be important to know whether or not TF2 ACTUALLY starts or not.

Check if you have these 2 new folders

~steam\steamapps\<username>\team fortress 2\ srct\reserve\
~steam\steamapps\<username>\team fortress 2\ tf\cfg\srctools\

At least this will confirm something for me.

AND to go one step further [just to see where this takes us]

1 - Open core\core.bat in notepad
2 - Add this at the very top: set crashrecovery=no
3 - save and close

and i got those directories in my cfg folder ...

Copy paste the following into notepad. Then save it as "reset.bat" inside the same folder as "Sourcetools.bat"

Code:
@echo off
call core\modules\gamemngr\rescheck.bat
call %initializer%
reg delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceTools\%steamuser%\tf /f /v multimode
rmdir /q /s %steamfolder%\steamapps\"%steamuser%"\%gf1%\%gf2%\cfg\srctools\%mode%
rmdir /q /s %steamfolder%\steamapps\"%steamuser%"\%gf1%\%gf2%\cfg\srctools\backup-M%mode:~-1%
rmdir /q /s %steamfolder%\steamapps\"%steamuser%"\%gf1%\srct\reserve\%mode%

Launch reset.bat, select TF2,select mode2.
Then once it closes, you can launch sourcetools.bat again and it will ask you again for the multimode.

but that won't solve the current problem

Do this while I write something else for you to try.
