It happens to me all the time, while im in school 8 hours i go idle, and when i get back i found out that i idled only 1-2 hours becouse ive lost connection to the server, its annoying as hell...
pls if anyone can make a script post it here i will be very happy |

Use Source Tools. It's simpler for newbies.
Just install it [run srctools0xx.bat]
then run Sourcetools.bat [in the newly created folder]
answer a few simple questions
1 - Select TF2
2 - Type gum when it asks if you want to activate dual mode
3 - Then you'll be asked which mode you wish to use
mode1 is for your normal configuration
mode2 is for the low-low graphics settings AND the autoconnect/reconnect
copy/paste a bunch of server addresses for idling in
\userfiles\servers\2-servers.txt That's in the Source Tools directory.
Create the folders and text file if they don't already exist.
If you answered gum when it asks you if you wish to enable dual mode, you pretty much have nothing more to do. It comes preset with the autoconnect/reconnect and 2 server addresses to idle.
After that, just launch sourcetools.bat anytime you want to play/idle in TF2.
Select mode1 to play TF2
select mode2 to idle in TF2
no need to do anything else if you stick to just idling.
oh except for copy/pasting the gamemenu.res [which is described as how to do in the original thread]
otherwise, if you can't figure THAT out, you just have to remember to type leave in the console to EXIT tf2 when idling. |

because it expects you to have servers in your server list. So it would move on to the next server in your list if the previous one is unconnectable.
Since you downloaded the most recent version, you actually need to launch extra.bat and select the option to "reset" or "enable" dual mode. I turned off dual mode by default. |

Once is enough. It will just cycle through the list over and over. Gonna be harsh if the server is down or full for a few hours.

What you said made no sense, but if you mean if the script needs to be running when TF2 is running, then yes. |

| I just realized this existed.. I also noticed when connecting I got a "disconnected due to slot reservation". Are these SourceOP servers? Is there any way to use my reserved slot or will it automatically? |

| If you got a "disconnected due to slot reservation" message, you weren't on a SourceOP server. SourceOP's say something like "Kicked to make room for reserved slot." |
