Q. How do I trade items?
A. The trading section of tf2items.com is just a trade matchmaking system for finding people to trade with. You will have to wait for Valve to actually implement the trading system before you can actually trade items.
Q. I can't find my backpack on TF2Items.com. How can I?
A. Copy and paste your steam community profile URL into the search box. Also if you have set a custom url on your steam community profile settings, you can use that. You will only be able to search by your name if your backpack has been viewed before.
Q: Why is my backpack private?
A: Your Steam community profile is set to private or friends only. It's also possible that the Steam community is undergoing maintenance and that everyone's backpack is temporarily private.
Q. What do the item levels do?
A. Nothing.
Q. How does the item cap work?
A. Nobody really knows or has reported for sure. Current speculation suggests that the cap resets on Thursdays.
Q. Can I get items in spec?
A. Yes. You don't even have to join spec. You will qualify for items immediately after connecting to the server.
Q. Where can I find more information about crafting?
A. If you're looking for currently known blueprints, there is a list on TF2Items.com here http://www.tf2items.com/crafting/blueprints.php. There is a good crafting FAQ thread on SPUF here http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1078576.
Q. Why doesn't the idler (SteamStats.exe) work?
A. Because Valve killed it in September of 2009.
Q. This FAQ didn't answer my question.
A. That's not a question, but perhaps searching the forums could help. Click here to search.
If you want to add a question, post it below.

Q: Will spamming the FAQ get me banned from this forum?
A: YES!
Edit: maybe split the FAQ into a locked answers section and a question section?
2nd edit: and link to the questions section from the answers thread so ppl can find it easily. _________________ Click Here For My Backpack!

| One of the FAQs are in error. Item lvls >DO< have an impact. They're used for bragging rights. And only peeps with lvl 100 items are cool. |

Q. My topic about my cat/day/blog/walk/lunch/ect was locked! Why is it locked?
A. Contrary to popular belief, this forum has more sections than just the TF2 Items section.
Q. My post about random posts in the wrong section was deleted! Why was it deleted?
A. Learn to read the posts above you before posting the same thing. |

This FAQ appears to be working for the most part.
Q: Is there any way to influence my drop rate?
A: No. drop rate's are not affected by players or activity. Steam only checks to see if you are playing on a server nothing else will influence your drop rate other than steam community shutting down.
Along with other really obvious ones just in-case? _________________ I was a commando you know. |

I think i have one:
Q: With the new system is there a reason to idle?
A: It's down to personal opinion/choice. for some people who don't want to lose time but still want drops, they can still use all the time in a single day via idling for the duration. Playing normally gives the same effect, so either play normally if you have time, or just idle. |

Q: Why is my backpack private?
A: Check your steam profile make sure it is not set to private or friends only. If it is set it to public. If the steam community is down this can also be the source of the problem, if you still have an issue with your backpack being private after this create a new thread and make sure to link your backpack. _________________ I was a commando you know. |
